Description
A letter appointing Edgar Arnold as the chief engineer on the William B. Davock for 1920 and employed by the Picklands Mather & Company with a salary of 300 dollars per month. It also explains if the ship is laid up during the shipping season due to a lack of business, there will be a salary reduction. The letter is signed or stamped with the name of Harry Coulby, the then head of Picklands Mather, but is unsigned by Arnold. There are two horizontal creases in the paper.
