Description

This bookmark, appears to be designed for the Stratford Festival Bookshop, and it features an iconic cut-out portrait of William Shakespeare. Below the portrait is a quote from his play "Julius Caesar": "Is not the leaf turn'd down where I left reading?" Immediately below the quote is a logo with a swan in water with leaves near its head. The bookmark was likely used to promote the bookshop and celebrate Shakespeare's literary legacy for the festival. The reverse of the Shakespeare bookmark, it has no text but is in the shape of the iconic Shakespeare portrait. It has yellowed with age and is slightly damaged near the top of the head.
