Subject

House Plants.
Plants, Potted.
Hoya.

Description

A small hoya obovata with 4 leaves is stabilized by a chopstick with a clear dragonfly clip at the top of the stem, potted in a 3-inch pot. The entire plant is a dark green indicating it to be healthy. Leaves are mainly dark green with a speckling of white spots making this plant a 'splash' variant. The hoya is planted in a very loose potting soil mainly mulch chips and perlite, often referred to as hoya potting mix. The leaves are very thick and shiny, very similar to a succulent. The top of the first image is pinched from previously lost leaves.

The first and second images are from different angles on March 13 and the third image was taken 4-7-2022. In that time the plant grew 3 more leaves. This growth may have been due to the switch in water (from distilled to boiled rice water which provides nutrients) or because it was getting more sun as we entered spring.
