Description
A purple and orange definitive stamp from the British Solomon Islands. To the right center is a small portrait of the head of a young Queen Elizabeth II (1926), topped with a small decorative crown. To the left is a long canoe or ship labeled "Ysabel Canoe" rowed by about a dozen men, sailing the vast ocean. In the bottom right is listed the postage value of 1/2 d (British penny). At the top is written "British Solomon Islands". Printed with steel engraving technique.
