Description

Depicts a driver lifting a giant watermelon using a forklift and carrying various produce stored in crates on trailers behind the fork truck. The text "Detroit" and "Eastern Market" are displayed on the produce crates. The mural was designed by Alex Pollock and painted by Ed Lee in 1972 and restored by Vito Valdez and other Detroit artists in 2013 with support from the city of Detroit, the Hudson-Weber foundation, the Masco Corporation, and Behr.
