Description

This mural depicts two shirtless black men. The figure located above the wall of the other and to the left wears a traditional headdress adorned with feathers and a golden horn-shaped adornment, along with a long golden necklace. He wears gray pants and has what may be his shirt draped on one leg. He has a close-cropped beard and moustache and looks forward and slightly to our right. The man slightly below and on the right repeats the gaze of the other figure. He holds what appear to be wooden sticks decorated with floral patterns and wears blue pants with mariner-style double button front closures. Each figure has one hand balled into a fist. It appears as if they are in the process of performing a fist bump. The mural’s background includes a flat shadow form of the two figures painted a golden yellow that falls on the wall behind the men. At the bottom of the mural in a font resembling Times New Roman font in golden yellow, "Umuntu Ngumuntu Ngabantu." This is a Zulu proverb translated to "A person is a person through other people." Down the right edge of the mural in a handwritten script is "Mystical Bonds" in the same shade of golden yellow.
