Description
This mural depicts a smiling Stevie Wonder shown wearing lightly tined and reflective sunglasses with metal frames, a light gray "Detroit" T-shirt with a white collar, a bright red varsity-style jacket with white stripes at the neck, wrists and bottom edge, and blue jeans. His face is turned toward the viewer. He is shown seated facing to the right playing a black electric piano, and behind him is a Hohner Clavinet D6 keyboard upon which a silver harmonica and a red ribbon are placed. The background in the upper part of the mural is painted a solid muted shade of golden tan which has been decorated with what appear to be a curtain of repeated strands of hanging beads and braids done in a darker shade of the background color. The work has been signed in gray in the lower right corner "Wilson". Below the mural of Wonder is another scene, depicting a postcard which states "Greetings from Detroit, Michigan," with Detroit written in bubble-letters showcasing various local landmarks (Music Hall, Motown Museum / Hitsville U.S.A, David Stott Building, Fox Theater, James Scott Memorial Fountain on Belle Isle, Ambassador Bridge, Spirit of Detroit) inside the letters.
