"Bad Girls" is the seventh studio album by American artist Donna Summer (b. 1948 - 2012) released on April 25, 1979 by Casablanca Record.The album features singles: "Hot Stuff"; "Bad Girls"; "Dim All the Lights"; "Sunset People": "Our Love"; and "Walk Away". "Bad Girls" received five Grammy nominations for: Album of the Year; Best Female Pop Vocal Performance; Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for "Dim All the Lights"; Best Disco Recording for "Bad Girls" and won Best Female Rock Vocal Performance for "Hot Stuff". The album peaked at number one for both the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and U.S. Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
The 14"x14" vinyl cover features a close up portrait of Summers, photographed by American photographer Harry Langdon (b. 1934) in a black lacy dress; in the background Summers is posing against a lamp post in a black dress and blue jacket, a police officer is next to the lamp post. In the top left hand corner in neon pink is the artist's name: "Donna Summer" underneath Summer's name is the album title "Bad Girls" in the same neon pink. The back cover, photographed by Langdon, is shot from the point of view of an individual seeing Summer through a car windshield the "John" has a cigarette in their right hand a $50 in their left hand. Summer is wearing a black off the shoulder mid-length dress and black beret with a cigarette in her right hand. In the background two unidentified women are standing near a lamp post one wearing a black skirt, red top and black hat with a cigarette in hand and the other woman in a black pant outfit.
