"Promise" is the second studio album by the English band Sade (1981 -) released on November 4, 1985 by CBS Inc. The album feature singles: "The Sweetest Taboo"; "Is It a Crime?"; "Never as Good as the First Time". "Promise" peaked number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, number four on the U.S. Billboard Top Jazz Albums and number one U.S. Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.

The 14"x14" vinyl cover depicts a close up portrait of vocalist Sade Adu, photographed by Toshi Yajima, in a denim blue shirt. Band name and album title is depicted across the lower half of the cover. Back cover includes track listing and copyright information.
