Description
Split image appearing to depict the past and the present in Detroit. Two women, one Black and one White, are set apart from the background and are seen standing in the middle within a scrolled frame. The left side of the image is painted in shades of yellow, orange and red predominantly. It contains ships in the foreground, some of them sinking in front of a burning skyline of Detroit. The scene likely references the Great Fire of 1805. The right side of the image is painted in predominant shades of blue and black and depicts present day Detroit with the GM Renaissance Center at the right.
