Description

This commemorative pewter and ceramic plate was commissioned by Stroh's Brewing Company to celebrate the production of five million barrels of beer.

The plate is Pewter and 11 in. in diameter.  The back of the plate rim is 6 1/4 in. in diameter.  The front ceramic inlay is 6 in. in diameter.
 
The ceramic inlay displays the Stroh Brewing Company crest of a golden lion on a red shield with the inscription "Five Million Barrels 1975."

The pewter plate is engraved with block lettering arching the top of the plate reading "THE STROH BREWERY COMPANY" and the bottom of the plate engraved in script, "Family Brewers For More Than 200 Years."

This plate was gifted to employees with a letter from Chairman John W. Stroh that read, "The year 1975 was a wonderful one in the history of the Stroh Brewery Company. We celebrated a dual anniversary, 125 years in Detroit and Family Brewers for more than 200 years...as well as producing and shipping our 5 millionth barrel of beer in a single calendar year" (WorthPoint, 2021).
