A photo of Steve Kays (left), with his father, Mark Kays (center), and brother, Tim Kays (right), at the foot of one of the dunes at Sleeping Bear Dunes. The Kays family went on vacation to the northern part of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan in August of 2022, Sleeping Bear Dunes was a location they stopped at. This photo was taken before climbing the first dune. All three of Steve, Mark, and Tim are holding either their shoes or sandals in their hands. Steve is carrying one of his water bottles in his hand. Steve and Tim are both wearing t-shirts and athletic shorts for comfort. Mark is wearing a teal quarter button shirt with casual brown shorts. It was a sunny day with hardly a cloud in the sky, Tim has his sunglasses on. A couple other climbers can be seen at the top of the dune in the background.
