Description

Acrylic painting of a vase with hydrangeas in it, painted on wood. The entire wood panel is olive green with small specks of dark green scattered throughout. The wood panel has a smaller rectangular frame within it, about four inches away from the edge. The rectangular frame is gold with white lines within it. Inside the rectangular frame is the central image of hydrangeas in a vase. The vase is grey with a wavy bottom and a curved handle on the right side. Three groups of hydrangeas rest inside the vase: one cream-colored bunch on the left, a magenta bunch in the middle, and another cream-colored bunch on the right. Outside of the vase and to the bottom left of it is another magenta-colored bunch of hydrangeas. The image is painted in the center of the rectangular frame and does not rest on any surface. Outside of the rectangular frame, small decorative wooden borders have been applied with paste to all four corners of the panel. These appliques are light yellow and face inward to create the effect of a border. The appliques and inner rectangular frame are raised above the flat wood panel surface.
