Purple stamp from the Panama Canal Zone. Image features a view of Gaillard Cut, a boat and an early airplane, similar to that of Lindbergh in the 1920s. The postage value is listed as 20 U.S. cents in the bottom corners. At the top is written "Canal Zone Postage" and at the bottom: "Airmail".
The 20-cent Gaillard Cut stamp of this series is one of the originals. First intended for airmail letters to the United States and some Latin American countries, its greatest period of use was from November 18, 1931, to November 30, 1937, after which date the rate to the United States dropped to fifteen cents. In small print at the very bottom is written American Bank Note Co. N.Y.

An account of the resource
A green service stamp from the Union of Burma (Myanmar) celebrating the first anniversary of independence from British rule (in 1948). This definitive from 1949 is now printed with the value in a new currency. In the center is an image of a mythical bird, called a Hamsa, a symbol from Southeast Asian culture and mount of Brahma. At the top is written "Union of Burma" in Burmese (Myanmar) and English. In the bottom corners is listed the postage value of 15 P (Myanma pya) (also listed in Burmese letters). Printed with offset lithography printing technique. The watermark is elephant heads (multiple).
