The items in the “Nintendo: Games and Consoles of the 21st Century” collection represent a selection of 20 of Nintendo’s releases in the early 21st Century. Therefore, items in this collection are of a variety of formats. This collection consists of both Nintendo consoles and a selection of Nintendo video games which can be played on those consoles. Consoles in the collection include a Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo DS Lite, Game Boy Advance SP, Game Boy Advance, New Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo Switch—Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition. These consoles represent two different form factors of game console released by Nintendo in the early 21st Century: handheld and home. The video games in this collection include a selection of which can be played across each of the consoles described. As the games correspond with the different consoles of the collection, they span a variety of different formats as well, include cartridge, DVD-sized discs, and smaller-sized discs. The oldest items in the collection are from 2001, while the newest items were released in 2020.
