Description

Christopher Lauckner (1944-2016) was an Ann Arbor artist and University of Michigan Art School graduate who worked across painting, photography, and sculpture. This collection of 21 works spans two decades, united by a recurring focus on place and the human figure. The paintings are expressionistic depictions of domestic scenes and portraits; the photographs document Ann Arbor landmarks and an Alaskan sailing trip; and the terracotta sculptures explore the human form through movement and gesture. Together they reflect a single artistic sensibility finding different ways to look at familiar things.
